We operate an appointment system via reception; this ensures being seen quickly after arrival in the surgery. It is important to state the urgency of the appointment, as well as giving the receptionists an idea of the problem, if possible, so that an appropriate appointment may be given.
Emergency appointments are offered on the same day for severe pain/illness/possible malignancy. This appointment may be with any doctor at any time – by definition an emergency.
Routine appointments can be booked with the doctor of choice on the day of choice.
Routine appointments are 10 minutes long Emergency appointments may be shorter.
These vary in order to enable a wide range of appointments with each practitioner. Surgeries can start as early as 08:00 and run through to 11:00 for booked appointments and recommence at 14:00 until 19:00. Emergencies are seen at the end and sometimes the beginning of booked surgeries.
In a number of cases it might be worth considering an appointment with a practice nurse rather than a doctor. Practice nurses are qualified to deal with many conditions and you may be seen more quickly.
If you need an interpreter, please advise the receptionist when you book an appointment.
If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else.
